Orihuela Costa Turns Blue: A Blue Flag Triumph in 2025

In a remarkable achievement, Orihuela Costa has secured 10 prestigious Blue Flag awards in 2025, the highest number among municipalities in the Valencian Community. This accomplishment was celebrated at the official Blue Flag award ceremony held in Xàbia, where representatives from across the region gathered to honour excellence in beach quality and environmental management.  

Orihuela Costa’s Award-Winning Beaches

The following beaches in Orihuela Costa have been recognised with Blue Flags for 2025: 

• Punta Prima
• La Zenia – Cala Bosque
• Cabo Roig – La Caleta
• Cala Capitán
• Aguamarina
• Campoamor – La Glea
• Barranco Rubio
• Cala Mosca
• Cala Cerrada
• Mil Palmeras

Additionally, the Club Náutico Dehesa de Campoamor has renewed its Blue Flag status, highlighting the excellence of the marina facilities.  

What is the Blue Flag?

The Blue Flag is an internationally recognised award presented by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). It symbolises high standards in water quality, safety, environmental education and information, as well as the provision of services and general environmental management criteria. Beaches and marinas that meet these stringent criteria are awarded the Blue Flag, signifying their commitment to environmental excellence.

Orihuela Costa’s achievement in obtaining 10 Blue Flags is a testament to the municipality’s dedication to maintaining high environmental and quality standards on its beaches. This recognition not only enhances the area’s appeal to tourists but also reflects the community’s commitment to sustainable coastal management.
