Let the Guiness flow and the celebrations begin - it's Paddy's Day in Cabo Roig!

Dig out your finest green clothes and get yourselves down to Cabo Roig this Sunday (March 16) for the biggest St Patrick’s Day parade in mainland Europe.

The annual Cabo Roig St Patrick’s Day event is so much fun that even the Irish leave their hometown celebrations to join in the craic right here in Spain. And this year (the 12th Cabo Roig parade) promises to be even bigger and better than ever.

The Cabo Roig strip will be turned into a sea of green as everyone celebrates the patron saint of the Emerald Isle in true exuberant Irish style. In addition to the main event, all the bars and restaurants of the strip will turn green and offer music, entertainment and great food and drink –with special menus and, of course, plenty of Guinness!

All-Ireland footballer Charlie Redmond, a legend in Ireland, is this year’s parade Grand Marshall. 

The parade kicks off with classic cars and motorcycles cruising the route. Then St Patrick himself will herald in the real party – featuring the ex-Irish Army Veteran’s Pipe Band, marching bands, stilt walkers, drummers, floats and dancers in elaborate and glamourous emerald attire. 

There are plenty of events for children, too, and the celebrations will go on all day and into the evening. 

Parade route

The parade starts at 15.00 in Calle Agua before heading southward along Calle del Mar and turning right at the end of the road to proceed northward along the front of the strip beside the N-332.

This year’s charity

A Helping Hand Food and Clothes Bank has been appointed as the official charity for the event, and representatives of the charity will be amongst the crowd to collect vital funds for the worthwhile cause.
